Schemes for Undergraduates
The Engineering Leadership Standard Awards Scheme (formerly the Undergraduate Programme)
This programme is designed to
encourage UK engineering undergraduates to further
develop their skills and their interest in
engineering as a career through a series of
activities. In addition to the standard courses, new
and exciting opportunities have been added in 2009,
as follows:
-
Personal Development Courses - WILD1 and WILD2
-
EWB/RAEng International Development Workshop
-
Negotiation Skills
-
Public Engagement
-
NCGE/RAEng Flying Start Rally: Entrepreneurship
-
RedR/RAEng course: “So you think you want to be a Relief Worker”
-
Renewable Energy Technologies Course
-
Assistance with
accommodation and/or travel costs to enable
summer work placements or internships with
engineering companies away from home.
The programme is open to
engineering students who have participated in
one or more of the Best Programme schemes: Young
Engineers, Smallpeice Trust, Engineering
Education Scheme, Headstart and the Year in
Industry. Invitations to these students are sent
out automatically in the year that students
commence their engineering degree at university.
For the first time, this
scheme is also open to engineering
undergraduates who are UK nationals studying for
a degree in the UK. Students will need to
register as a member of the Engineering
Leadership Standard Awards' Scheme. Registration
will be open on this website from August to
October 2009 for activities in 2010.
